About the school

Internationella Engelska Skolan Staffanstorp is an F-9 school (from preschool class to grade 9) with an associated after-school care program (fritidshem), where we accompany our students all the way from their very first year through to grade 9. Our school is growing. For the 2023/24 academic year, we will have approximately 540 students from F-8. The school will be fully developed by the 2024/25 academic year, hosting around 600 students in grades F-9. The school was founded on August 17, 2022.

IES Staffanstorp is a bilingual school where staff and students work together in an international environment. You should therefore feel comfortable communicating with colleagues, students, and their families in both Swedish and English.

About the Position

Now you have the opportunity to come and work with us at IES Staffanstorp. We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our student health team (elevhälsoteam) and contribute with their expertise.

The role involves close contact and collaboration with colleagues within student health, as well as with the Assistant Principal, Principal, and teaching staff at the school. You will also have the responsibility and freedom to structure your own work, which requires an eye for detail combined with a bird’s-eye perspective.

You have a conscious approach to your role as an educator and are a clear leader who works structuredly in accordance with current governing documents. With your professional attitude, you view collaboration as a given standard for achieving success in education.Your Profile

You are a qualified Special Education Teacher (behörig specialpedagog). Experience working with children with special needs is a merit. You have strong communication skills in both spoken and written language—in personal meetings as well as in groups—along with digital competence and a great capacity for teamwork, while also being able to work independently. You are passionate about helping students with special needs develop and reach as far as possible based on their individual potential. You see the importance of creating and maintaining good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians.

There are no requirements for prior teaching experience, but we like to see that you are confident in your professional leadership, capable of creating a safe and stable environment both inside and outside the classroom. You value and deliver personal, clear, and balanced leadership with a focus on both control and student engagement. As a Special Education Teacher, you are a clear and active setter of norms. You also possess:

– A positive attitude and a desire to contribute to the development of the school.
